Course description
Who doesn’t love making abstract backgrounds? I could make them all day – it’s the ultimate playtime, with no pressure, just color and texture. I’d like to share my technique for transforming them into paintings. The course contains over three hours of guided demonstration (and oopsies! ) where we'll create three different paintings. I hope it will encourage you to experiment and see things in a different way.
A note about this course
It’s just me, unedited, creating in my studio and talking through what I’m thinking and doing. These are not rehearsed projects, but "experiments with intent", with changes to plans and modifications on the fly! Learning to make modifications is so important when working with alcohol ink.
Let go of fear and expectations. If I can do it, you can do it. You are an artist. Be true to yourself. Let's create!
The course is includes:
- Over three hours of guided demonstration and how to handle "mishaps"
- The creation of three different paintings
- A detailed list of materials used in the course.

I absolutely love working with alcohol inks, especially trying new techniques...new tools...new surfaces...new colors. I'm constantly thinking, "What if I do this? What will happen? "So I'm here to share what I've learned and help you to create things you never imagined. I've taught over 400 live workshops in the last eight years - sharing this medium with others is really my greatest joy. We're going to have a lot of fun!
